Blog Post 1
Here is an interactive map from the Washington Post (they usually have fantastic maps!). It's titled "Earthquakes, floods and volcanoes: The most disaster-prone places in America." It's a choropleth map for every county in the country, and show the number of federal disasters declared in those counties. If you hover or click on a particular county, it provides you with the details of the different disasters declared. I enjoyed this map because I like clicking on things and finding more information. I also found some of them surprising. I expected Oklahoma, for some reason, to have more tornado disasters, but I think severe storms is a broader term that may contain damage from storms that spawn tornadoes.
